What is ChairShare?
ChairShare is a chair-leasing platform for independent hairdressers, barbers, and beauty practitioners. Instead of signing a long-term salon lease or splitting your earnings as a commission employee, you pay a flat daily chair rent and keep every dollar your clients pay you. We handle the booking page, payments infrastructure, and the physical salon space — you bring your skills and your clients.
How do I list my chair?
ChairShare chairs are owned and managed by us — you lease a chair from ChairShare rather than listing your own. If you are a salon owner interested in partnering with us to bring ChairShare to your location, email thien@aidaptive.com.au with details about your space.
How do payments work?
Client payments go through Stripe directly into your connected Stripe account. There is no commission or percentage taken from your client revenue. ChairShare charges only the chair rent, which is collected weekly from your nominated payment method. Stripe payouts to your Australian bank account typically arrive within two business days.
Can I cancel anytime?
You can cancel your chair lease by giving 30 days' written notice via email. Your account and booking page remain active until the end of the notice period so your clients are not disrupted. There are no exit fees.
How do clients find me?
Every ChairShare practitioner gets a personal booking page at a custom link (e.g. chairshare.aidaptive.com.au/your-name). Clients can self-book, reschedule, and cancel appointments 24/7 without calling you. You can share your link on Instagram, Google, or anywhere you currently market yourself.
Is there a setup fee?
No. There is no setup fee, no joining fee, and no platform percentage. You pay your weekly chair rent and nothing else. Stripe charges a small processing fee on each client transaction (this is Stripe's fee, not ours) — standard rates apply as per your Stripe account agreement.
What is included with a chair?
Each chair includes a fully-fitted styling station, access to back-wash basins, towels, and a shared reception area. The salon's wifi, utilities, and cleaning are covered by the chair rent. You supply your own tools, products, and client list.
Where are ChairShare locations?
Our first location, The Atelier in Yarraville, Melbourne, opens in 2025. Two further Melbourne locations follow shortly after. Join the waitlist at chairshare.aidaptive.com.au/apply and select your preferred suburb — we'll notify you when a chair becomes available near you.
